We talked with Senior Vice President of Product Development and Merchandising, Kelly Crenshaw, to give you the inside scoop on Purecare’s product development process so you can see how your bedding is created from start to finish.

How Bedding Is Designed & Developed

As consumers, we may not put much thought into how our favorite products are conceptualized and developed. But at Purecare, we believe understanding this process can help provide a deeper appreciation for the quality and care that goes into creating each of our products. 

Product Conception: How We Choose Our Next Product

Creating new bedding starts with deciding what type of bedding our customers need most. By reviewing our current lineup of products and examining which products our customers buy the most, enjoy the most, and receive the most benefits from, our team starts developing ideas for the next product. The product development team reviews trends in fibers, fills, and designs and uses those to expand on our most successful products. Once the initial concept is selected, it’s time to find the perfect materials and fibers. With each product, our team ensures we use the highest quality fibers and materials to bring you ultimate comfort and sleep wellness. Also chosen during the product selection phase are our product finishes, like our antimicrobial silver treatment, fills for pillows and quilts, and specific product colors. 

Global Sourcing: Quality Partners Create Quality Bedding

After the product is conceptualized, it’s time to start the testing and development process, which is typically done with our manufacturing partners across the globe. When it comes to finding the perfect manufacturing partners, Crenshaw says it all comes down to having a good grasp of which countries specialize in certain products and understanding their core competencies. 

As of 2026, Purecare partners with factories around the globe in seven different countries to create the highest quality bedding and utilize unique premium fibers to create our products. These countries include:

• Pakistan: Protectors, Pillow Covers, Sheets

The Finished Product: Introducing High-Quality Bedding to the World

Once Crenshaw has chosen a partner to help manufacture the specific product we’re focusing on, her team receives product samples to inspect and test. Each product is tested by members of the Purecare team to ensure it is comfortable, fits well, washes well, and is durable.

Testing our products gives our team and our customers peace of mind that issues such as pilling, color deterioration, and poor quality aren’t present in the final product. It's only after the product is tested, approved by our team, and at the highest-quality possible that we prepare to show our newest sheet, protector, pillow, or other bedding to our customers.

How Bedding Is Made

After everything is approved and our finished products are up to our quality standards, it’s time to go into production. Here’s an inside peek at how we produce just one of our many products, our best-selling luxury sheets.

Step 1: Initial fabric is inspected for quality assurance
Step 2: Fabric is prepared and measured before cutting to the necessary dimensions
Step 3: Cut fabric is checked and prepared for the sewing process
Step 4: A 1" elastic band and cinched, elasticized corners are sewn into the fitted sheet
Step 5: Hems are sewn onto the flat sheet and pillowcases 
Step 6: A quality inspection is completed on all finished products
Step 7: Sheets are folded, packaged, boxed up, and ready to ship
